Why is my friend on a different version of Stick War 3 than me?

Updated: Sep 19, 2022

Playing Stick War 3 with your friends in 1v1 or 2v2 co-op gameplay is usually extremely fast and simple to do. However, like with most things in life, there are exceptions to the rule. In Stick War 3 (and most games), two players with different versions cannot play in the same game: this is known as a version mismatch. As a Stick War Expert, I will provide both simple and concise solutions to the common version mismatch problems you may be experiencing in Stick War 3.

Closed Beta vs Public Beta

Wait, there's different versions?!

It's true! If you downloaded Stick War 3 from TestFlight or the PlayStore, you are playing on the public beta version of Stick War 3. This means you are not getting frequent experimental updates like the closed beta. Unfortunately, friends attempting to connect to Stick War 3 from different betas will not succeed.

Since the closed beta is... well, closed, the only remedy in this situation is for the closed beta player to download the public beta version of Stick War 3.

Public Beta vs Public Beta

In the case of both friends being on the public beta of Stick War 3, determine the version numbers between you two. The friend with the lower version should attempt to update their Stick War 3.

If the version numbers are not the same and there is no current update pending, determine the devices you are using. Android usually receives updates before iOS due to Apple's verification process. Check back in a few hours if this is the case.

If you followed these steps, you should be on the same version of Stick War 3 as your friend. More importantly, you should now be able to play together! Have fun!
